Do Not Be Anxious

And He said to His disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you then the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you or to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need then. Instead, seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Luke 12:22-34

Being anxious is something that I struggle with. I’m a do-it-now, make-it-happen, kind of guy. So I often find myself being anxious about things that I should be being patient and resting in the Lord's timing for. Instead of being anxious, I need to seek HIS kingdom and the things that I need, will be added to me.

Where is your treasure?

Right on Jason.

My favorite part of the verse is when he points out that we cannot add even an hour to our lives by being anxious. It is so slap-in-the-face true when you stop and think about it.

If we cannot do something as simple as add an hour to the whole span of our lives then why do we think that we can accomplish other things by being anxious about them?

Thank you, I needed that. I have been saturating myself in anxiousness lately. It is totally my personality to see something I want, go after it and then find out later, by hurt or whatever that that was not what God wanted for me. SO I am learning to give it to God and he will either give it or not in his timing.
So, thank you again for printing that scripture, His truth.
God bless you today, see you this evening.

Good post Jason

I am the same way. Do it now, make it hapen, take the bull by the horns, if your face kind of guy as well.

It's a daily war brother!, that's why we have to take these thoughts captive. You know, the Lord regenerated me eight and a half years ago Jason, and the battle has never ceased to rage. I am talking about being anxious and not content! Just remember it's Day by Day.

enjoy Resolved
